Understanding pH and why natural mineral water like Rhythm hits the right note

Have you ever noticed the term “pH” on bottled water labels at the grocery store or seen it mentioned in health articles. So, what exactly does pH mean, and how does it impact the water you drink?

At Rhythm, we’re dedicated to providing you with the purest, healthiest hydration possible. Understanding pH is a crucial step in making informed choices about the water you consume.

pH simply indicates the level of acidity or alkalinity in water-based solutions by measuring the presence of hydrogen ions. As per the specifications provided by the Bureau of Indian Standards and the World Health Organization, low pH values indicate the presence of a high level of hydrogen ions valued lower than 7 or even as low as 0. On the other hand, high pH values indicate the presence of a low level of hydrogen ions of the value of 8 or higher. Distilled water typically falls within the pH range of 6.5-8.5.

Rhythm - Sparkling water

Maintaining this pH balance in drinking water is essential, with levels closely monitored to stay within the 6.5-8.5 range. Consuming water outside this range, especially acidic water, can have negative effects. Acidic water can be corrosive, and potentially leach harmful metals like iron, copper, lead, or zinc from pipes and fixtures. This can give the water a bitter, metallic taste and might raise health concerns. Water with a highly alkaline pH, although not necessarily a health risk, can cause aesthetic issues such as scale or precipitate build-up on pipes and fixtures. This water may also have a soapy taste and a slippery feel. A very acidic diet can lead to weight gain, weakened immunity, and increased susceptibility to diseases, while an overly alkaline diet can interfere with the body’s ability to absorb essential nutrients. Both overly acidic and overly alkaline water can be detrimental to health, affecting metabolic processes and overall well-being.

Drinking water with a balanced pH can offer several health benefits. It’s been linked to numerous health benefits, including relief from acid reflux, improved digestion, a stronger immune system, healthier skin, and enhanced hydration. This has spurred interest in natural mineral water, which is rich in minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, and bicarbonate – all of which contribute to pH balance. Rhythm water, for example, contains these essential minerals naturally.

The trend towards going back to nature continues to extend to water and for good reason. Natural mineral water, ethically sourced from protected sources, brimming with naturally occurring minerals, will always be the healthier choice. Unlike machine-manufactured water, Himalayan water like Rhythm comes directly from the source, bottled at its purest form. And for those who enjoy a refreshing fizz, Rhythm natural sparkling water offers the same benefits with a delightful effervescence.

Natural mineral water, like Rhythm, is naturally balanced, free of additives or harsh processes, and untouched, making it safe for everyone to consume. With its rich mineral content, Natural Mineral Water provides optimal hydration and supports your overall well-being. So, the next time you reach for a bottle of water, remember – it’s not just about quenching your thirst. It’s about selecting a natural source that promotes balance and well-being for your body. Your body will thank you for the pure, refreshing goodness!
