Creation: The Ganges
It is crucial for us to acknowledge that approximately 50 million years ago, the Indian Plate collided with the Eurasian Plate, leading to the creation of the Himalayas and the Ganges. The Ganges, revered as a sacred river, is believed to possess purifying qualities. Its influence has sparked a vibrant cultural and artistic legacy, influencing literature, music, and art.

50 Million Years Ago
Preservation: Giri Ganga
During 13th century a few holy men carried the holy “Ganga Jal” in their “Kamandals” (Vessels used in ancient times by sadhus) all the way from Haridwar. The Sages chose to rest during their arduous journey at Kuppar Bugyal, a beautiful meadow on top of a peak. The Ganga Jal they were carrying accidentally spilled on the ground which made them utter the expression “Giri Ganga” which means Ganga spilled/fell. A stream of water began to flow which was named the Giri Ganga river which is a very holy place.
